Fernwood Resort offers six cabin rentals with fully equipped kitchens, queen beds, and bunk beds, sleeping up to six people. Twelve hotel rooms along Highway 1 feature private bathrooms, with some including hot tubs or propane fireplaces. Three adventure tents provide queen beds with shared bathhouse access, and ten tent cabins along the Big Sur River accommodate four people with bunk beds. Campsites and RV spots with water and electric hookups are available, many located directly beside the river.

Dining & General Store

The Tavern Bar & Grill serves burgers, pizzas, and nachos, with live music on Saturday nights. The back deck dining area sits beneath redwood trees. The general store offers Carmel Valley Roasting Company espresso, Lappert's Ice Cream, groceries, camping supplies, beer, wine, and local souvenirs.

Recreation & Nature Access

The resort provides direct access to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park hiking trails, including Buzzards Roost Trail. Guests can swim in the Big Sur River's natural swimming hole. The property features coastal redwoods, including a rare albino redwood. Weekly yoga classes are held on a stage overlooking the river and meadow.

Fernwood Resort is located directly on Highway 1 in the Big Sur Valley, bordering Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. It sits 55 km from Monterey Peninsula. Andrew Molera State Park is directly across the highway, and Pfeiffer Beach is 1.5 miles south. The resort is surrounded by five state parks and Los Padres National Forest.

Guest Services

Check-in is from 12:00 PM for camping and 3:00 PM for rooms, with check-out at 11:00 AM. Pets are allowed in campgrounds, RV sites, and tent cabins only.
